ARTIST STATEMENT

My paintings are intended as brief stopping points for the eye, mind, and heart to elevate, give pleasure, and rest.

During my career as a product and graphic designer I made art to express the emotional and aesthetic tone needed for many different clients. When creating greeting cards at Hallmark I began to think of art as a gift that communicates a message without words.

Now retired from my graphic design career I create acrylic, watercolor, and oil paintings —small gifts for the eye, mind, and heart.
