I was struck by the intensity of color when I saw this autumn scene.

We belonged to a place called Wood Spring when I was a child. We swam in the little lake, but also spent countless hours playing in the gentle streams in the surroundings. 12×12” acrylic on canvas
Part of our national wealth is the beauty of our natural landscape. All seasons, freezing, thawing, blooming in summer, crickets, wildlife: I thought about it all when I painted this with a heart full of apprecation.

The forest floor was damp after abundant spring showers. A walk in the woods revealed this puddle with the refleciton of the sky and clouds. New growth was emerging. This gave me a feeling of hope and renewal.
